David Turnbull
What was your story of becoming a personal trainer?
Aditi Kaushal
Growing up as a teenager, I always struggled with an inferiority complex. Because I was more on the overweight side. And I never knew that my physical appearance had that big of an impact on me, and I ended up being into an eating disorder, anorexia nervosa. So once I was recovering from that disorder, I met a yoga guru person back in my country. And that person made me realize that whatever was going on wasn’t just physical; it was a lot deeper for me. And that was the realization point in my life and made me aware that if I want to feel good, I have to fix myself from the dead. And that’s how my journey started.
David Turnbull
Awesome. And so, why is it important right now for you to be a personal trainer.
Aditi Kaushal
I’m for two reasons to learn and to help other people. Because whenever someone tells me that, oh, because of your help, I’m able to look myself confidently in the mirror, that makes me happy. And it allows me to continuously learn different behaviours and techniques that work out for the clients and people. And most importantly, when you work as a trainer, you get to make them educated in the proper way. Because out there, right now, in our industry, many people associate our fitness just getting all muscled up or looking a certain way. But with my approach and your approach, my goal is to make them understand that it’s not just outside; whatever happens inside will also help you feel more countenance long-lasting. So that’s why I decided that some personal trainers need to be out there in the nurse industry with that approach.
David Turnbull
Awesome. And then what do you think the essential part of the trainer and client relationships should be
Aditi Kaushal
constant communication and showing up no matter what, like sometimes even trainer has a bad day, but they do show up. And that’s the key for changes any life changes. So discipline and consistency.
David Turnbull
Awesome. And then, so anybody that is maybe just starting is there any tips or word of advice that you would like to offer them,
Aditi Kaushal
Keep showing up, no matter how you feel; sometimes, you might doubt the process. But keep showing up and keep communicating about how you are feeling with your trainer, as that will help the trainer build the relationship. And you show up will help you get what you want eventually,
David Turnbull
yeah, yeah, there’s no secret. It’s just consistency, and then, what would you like to tell the clients or anybody watching this video about how you want to teach.
Aditi Kaushal
So my approach is very holistic; it’s 100% going to get you the physical results, but it’s going to change you within, so it’s going to be fitness inside out. So that’s my approach. And I always put a lot of emphasis on having a direct range of motion, which is achieved by mobility. Because once that’s good, you can load yourself without hurting your back without hurting your knees. So that’s number one for me, then the strength and stability component. And in the end, it’s the isometric stretches. Because I’m also I also have a yoga background. So that helps me understand that once you have the strength and need to learn, then vice versa.
David Turnbull
Yeah, I like that. And then what about any advice for anybody who has been searching online for a trainer, maybe it’s a month, perhaps it’s been a year, they’re still not sure? Any motivation or tips that you might want to provide?
Aditi Kaushal
Um, so I would say that the only quitting is giving up rest is gathering information. That’s it. So as you’re gathering information, if you find someone whose philosophies are aligned with you, just contact and show up.
David Turnbull
Yeah. Awesome. And then is there anything else you want to tell everybody about you or um,
Aditi Kaushal
I would only say that my experience has helped me my diverse experiences helped me understand different personalities. And my different background approach helps me realize what component of work very character fitness will be more suited for a particular person. So if something is working out for a person, that minor working out might not work out for you. So never compare, and keep going. That’s all.
David Turnbull
Awesome. Well, thank you so much for sharing.
